Fragmentedly, one follows a woman and her everyday occupations during a stay in New York City.
Through different strategies, she tries to anchor herself to the city, and tries to establish
memories of the episodes she experiences. She counts in her own time, but become
bewildered because of the images from the place which she, through media, already knows
from before. The images change between memories and present time. The images are
accompanied with a voice over. The voice changes between a voice of a woman and of a man,
sometimes in Swedish, sometimes in English, both address I. The voice talks about memories,
conceptions, routines, expectations and strategies.

PASSAGE: AirPort (2004)

An installation with three videos:

A back projection with a video loop from the perspective of a check-in terminal at an airport
looking out. The outside of the airport is filmed from inside. The inside of the
airport is reflected in the window pane and mixes with the outside. The flatness of the image is
intensified by the sound of the passing vehicles from outside and the footsteps from inside,
which are all re-acted and made at the same sound leval. (4 min loop)

A plasma screen: a woman filmed at a walkway where the background moves but the woman
stand still. A re-make of the intro to the film Jackie Brown. (2 min loop)

Monitor: an interview (in Swedish) with an flight attendant. She talks about routines, jet lag and
how it feels to always be in between time zones. (25 min loop)

A video installation consisting of four video loops (4 min), filmed from four different angles of a person in a bed and her alarm clock.

The projections are placed where the camera stood during the take. The moment between sleep and the waking state, isolated and strict like in a scientific examination.

Surround sound with sound from an alarm clock partly displaced and a blue spot light in the entrance.
